The Curriculum At Temple Judea Preschool

Children are full of wonder and curiosity. The social and physical world invites many
possibilities for stimulating creative development. Our environment is designed to
stimulate children to explore and discover. We integrate the child’s cognitive, emotional,
physical and social growth. Our classrooms are carefully prepared to enhance their love
for learning and to enable them to gain confidence by success. We have developed a
curriculum designed to reflect these concerns by using effective learning centers.

Our program encourages parental involvement in their child’s preschool experience.
Parents and teachers gain valuable insights and techniques from each other and at
the same time share their talents and interests to maintain the excellent quality of our
preschool. It becomes a shared experience which we hope will continue throughout
each child’s educational experience.

Our Program includes:

• Language Arts
• Science
• Reading Readiness Activities
• Math Concepts
• Arts and Crafts
• Manipulative
• Dramatic Play
• Writing skills
• Computers
• Music
• Cooking
• Shabbat program
• Jewish enrichment

Educational Goals

It is our intent, as a preschool facility to provide each child with the best possible
tools for self-discovery and the understanding of his/her environment. Temple Judea
Preschool’s curriculum is developmentally appropriate with attention given to each
individual developmental need.

The goal of our program is:

1. To provide an environment that will serve as a foundation of concrete experiences.

2. To explore, discover, and build on the child’s physical and intellectual abilities.

3. To instill a positive self-image in the child.

4. To promote concern for others and feelings of mutual respect.

5. To foster in the child assertive, positive, and cooperative social behavior.

6. To nurture within each child respect and love for his/her family.

7. To stimulate imagination and curiosity.

8. To expose each child to new experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
