Goals of Mommy and Me/ Daddy and Me
Information for the parent:
1. The program will support parents in their parenting role, while presenting
a model for effective intervention to facilitate normal growth and development
of the child.
2. The program will provide a setting which will help parents gain an understanding
of toddler developmental milestones; thereby helping parents have realistic
expectations for their child.
3. The program will provide an opportunity to identify and address problems in
development, and to provide appropriate resources and or referrals.
4. The program will nurture the exchange of information and sharing of feelings,
thereby creating a support group for the parents.
5. The program will share parenting information with the parents through
written handouts.
For the child:
1. The program will provide age appropriate activities so that the child can practice
emerging skills.
2. The program will provide age appropriate equipment, which should be changed
and rotated to keep it interesting and fresh.
3. The program will provide an opportunity for early socialization through
Interactive play between child and between adult/child.
4. The program will provide opportunities for the child to gain confidence in
him/herself and his/her abilities through successful encounters and praise.
This should eventually help your child with “separation anxiety”
5. The program will provide a FUN TIME for all.
